I had my second jab of Bivalent yesterday morning. As I was being ushered from one station to another and finally witness and felt the sharpness of pain in my right upper arm, I observed with mindfulness my movements, thoughts, feelings and sensations throughout.
Interestingly the strongest feelings were anxiety and uncertainty followed by so many thoughts of "Will I?", "What if?", "Then how?" etc,. While seated at the observation space, I closed my eyes and anchored my attention on my breaths.
I am grateful for this second vaccination experience as it had taught me to not grasp at the ways we want things to be. We must accept the pace of the experience and the emotions that coupled along. Difficulties and emotions will end when they end. Not knowing makes us fearful, but life is by default filled with uncertainty. It is far better to embrace this fluidity than to resist it or pretend that our lives and the lives of those we love will not pass away.
What is right here right now is already the best. What we ought to do is make most out of each moment and live our lives to the fullest.
念念当下,如实如是。
随顺因缘,精进不懈。
念念不住,轻安自在。
Indeed, when uncertainty is the only thing we are certain about, it is better to embrace fluidity than to resist it.
