I have rested in a way for about three weeks since I came back from BJ after having gone for 22 months and could not fly back due to the COVID-19 restrictions then . Before I came back I had these expectations that many things would have changed for betterment especially at home that had turned out just to be my pure illusions. I cannot agree more that every single nian (念) we planted in our mind will naturally generate dramas in our daily lives, if we proceed with mindlessness.
Time is truly limited and cannot be rewind. Hence I pledge to continue practicing mindful living with every moment of awareness whenever I am awake. The aim of the practice is to maintain mindfulness so that I can dwell in the present moment even when I am brushing my teeth first thing in the morning. I particularly love this gatha:
"Brushing my teeth and rinsing my mouth,
I purify the way I speak.
Through Right Speech my mouth becomes fragrant,
and a flower blooms in the garden of my heart."
