The Mini Sabbatical

A more pragmatic approach to "retreating", by normalizing the taking of regular pauses in the city we inhabit, and developing the skills we need for a more balanced life.

When we think of going on a meditation retreat, we imagine “retreating” somewhere far away and reclusive, where we get to enjoy some quiet and solitude, or indulge in a luxurious and relaxing experience that day-to-day life deprives us of.

The City is Our Practice

True transformation doesn't come from running away from life once in a while, but from regularly devoting time, space, and attention to pause, slow down, and practice to the conditions we are given in urban life.

Redefine the Sabbatical

A sabbatical is an extended period of time (typically a few months to a year) away from work, to rest and pursue personal growth. One usually returns feeling more rejuvenated.

Not all of us have the chance to take long breaks. So we introduce the idea and practice of the "mini sabbatical" as a new way of taking meaningful breaks and designing a more sustainable way of urban life.

Integrate mini sabbaticals with your weekends, leave days and time off, or as part of a business or personal trip.
