At Take A Pause on 10th August 2025, the TAP community had a little fun meditating with our hands.
Sometimes it’s refreshing to bring a touch of fun and creativity into our practice.
And as a bonus, these popular practices are simple enough to be enjoyed by both adults and children alike.
(I) Finger Breathing:
Gently tracing the outline of each finger, we pair the movements with our natural breath. The tactile sensations help anchor our attention, making the body’s rhythm of breathing more calming and grounding.
(II) Finger Gratitude:
By lightly squeezing each finger—like giving ourselves a small, gentle hug—we pause and reflect on what we are grateful for.
Thumb - a person I am grateful for
Index - a challenge or experience that helped me grow
Middle - a place I feel grateful for
Ring - a personal quality in myself I appreciate
Little - a small thing that brings me joy
We also listened to the poem, Gratefulness, by James Crews.
Tune in to the audio track for step-by-step guidance on the two finger meditations.
